Content SEO

Briefs, research, and on-page strategy for content that ranks and converts.

Improve Your Content

Content SEO is the work of figuring out what to write, why it should rank, and how to structure it so it does. It is not the writing itself. We do not write your blog posts or service pages; we write the briefs your writers (or AI) work from, then review what comes back against the search target.

The reason for the split is straightforward. Writing well is a craft. Writing well about a sector you know inside-out is a different craft again. The closer the writer is to your business, the better the content will be. What we add is the search direction: what to write about, in what order, what to include, what queries to target, what intent to satisfy.

For most clients this works as a hand-off model. We deliver briefs and review drafts; you (or your writer) produce the content. For some it works better as ongoing strategy alongside an in-house content team. Both arrangements work.

How the Engagement Works

A four-stage flow specific to this service. The full five-stage methodology that sits behind every engagement is on the methodology page.

1

Topic research

Keyword research, intent mapping, competitive content analysis. Decide what is worth writing about.

2

Briefing

Per-page briefs covering target query, intent, structure, what to include, internal linking, schema.

3

Review

Optional review of drafts against the brief. Catch the gaps before content goes live.

4

Performance check

Track how published content actually performs. Refine briefs and topic priorities based on what is working.

Common Questions

Why do you not write the content yourselves?

Good content is sector-specific. Writers who know your sector inside-out will produce better content than a generalist SEO consultant ever could. Our role is to make sure that writer is pointed at the right topics, given a clear brief, and reviewed properly. Trying to do both jobs ends up doing neither well.

Can I use AI to write content from your briefs?

Yes, with review. AI is genuinely useful for first drafts and structured content. The briefs we write include specific instructions on what to include, intent to address, and quality checks; using AI to generate an initial draft against a tight brief and then editing for accuracy and voice is a reasonable workflow. What we will not do is generate bulk AI content with no human review.

What does a content brief look like?

Typically two to four pages per piece. Includes target query and intent, recommended H1, suggested H2 and H3 structure, key questions to address, entities and concepts to mention, internal linking targets, schema recommendations, and word count guidance. Designed so a competent writer can take it and produce content that hits the search target.

How many briefs do I get?

Depends on the engagement. A typical monthly content engagement might be 4 to 8 briefs per month. We can also produce a one-off batch of briefs for an existing content backlog if that is what the situation calls for.

Do you optimise existing content as well as planning new content?

Yes. Existing pages that are nearly ranking, or that rank but do not convert, are usually a faster win than new content. The audit identifies these and the optimisation work is part of the engagement.
